Dr. Mellisa Vetter
My parents say my career in veterinary medicine started when I was a small child, as I was always trying to help sick or injured animals – baby birds that had fallen out of the nest, a frog that lost part of its leg, raising baby bunnies that had lost their mother. My childhood desire to care for animals and to be their advocate grew into a passion that led me to pursue a career as a veterinarian. After I graduated from The University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in Philadelphia, I practiced in Baltimore, MD for a brief time. Having spent my whole life on the east coast, I was ready for a change, and headed west to Salt Lake City to begin a new adventure. When I am not at the clinic, my husband and I enjoy the natural beauty of Utah as much as possible by hiking and camping. Our lab Pacer joins us on many outings, and our other three fur babies (two cats Sebastian and Norah, and another dog Charlie) love to snuggle when we get home.
